What a fabulous read! There is something about Everton that none of us can actually explain, perhaps that age old phrase, "Once Everton has touched you.." is not just folklore, it truly is magical. A day in the life of an Everton family that will be spoken of for generations!

After the latest in a long line of concerning days following Everton this amazing story has certainly lifted my spirits. Yes its easy to get despondent at times, once more we are facing an uncertain future but if we ever needed to understand the reason our Club will always play an important part in our lives this heart-warming and uplifting account explains exactly why.
Such incredible moments Chris, spent with players and staff representing Everton FC in a wonderful, generous way…moments that Im sure you and all of your family will cherish forever. Best wishes to Phil, a truly inspirational guy.

A heartwarming story, especially for the spirit and determination that has been shown by your brother Phil, who has been through such a difficult time.
I was touched by Everton, a very long time ago, but the light has never been so dimly lit, with regards my feelings towards a club that has given me every single emotion possible, on different days and at different times.
I dont completely know why this has happened, especially when I read such a sincere and beautiful story. Maybe its our lack of success, or more truthfully, our lack of desire to obtain success?
Hopefully this can change and when Grealish delivers on those wide open spaces inside Wembley stadium, every single Evertonian, around the world, will still be singing at midnight!💙

Brilliant stuff, thoroughly enjoyed reading your story and couldn't be happier for you all.
Diamond was also a big favourite of mine back in the 90s, I met him once and he was very friendly. As was Joe Royle, btw.
This is the kind of thing that makes you proud to be an Evertonian, and I'll view Angus in a slightly different light from now on.

Great read Chris, thanks for sharing, its stories like these where you get to know the true personalities of the people we only meet through media and rumours, we obviously have great people working at the club who all want what we the fans want,
success on the pitch.

What a story, it so illustrates the emotional bonds, not only in your immediate family, but also in a larger blue family, and how important they can be in life.
Moving and heartwarming, I wish you all the best on your life journeys, and hope we may all celebrate our club many times going forwards!

Having experienced Everton hospitality myself, I can tell you that the memories last forever, warm and wonderful and forever tinted in Blue.

I have been putting off reading this piece because I knew it was going to require a cup of coffee and half a packet of custard creams.
A brilliant, spiritually uplifting piece, Chris.
Remind me never to get into a battle of will's with your Phil

A quick note to say thanks for all the positive and uplifting comments. I also know Phil is getting huge satisfaction from reading them too. We are back on the terraces this Saturday so if you spot us please come and say hello. UTT
